Community Forum with Rev. Lowell Greathouse
Join us March 22 at noon in the Fireside Room, when our own Rev. Lowell Greathouse will present a forum about his new book, Navigating Trumpworld: A Spiritual Guide for Turbulent Times. A light lunch will be served.
Public life in the United States is changing dramatically. Longstanding democratic institutions are under attack. Prior political assumptions no longer seem to apply to our current situation. Well-established ethical norms are being challenged on multiple fronts. We are facing a significant crisis that will determine the future of who we are as a people.
During our time together, Lowell will look at two questions he constantly asked himself while working on his book:
1. How can I survive our current political situation and maintain a sense of spiritual rootedness, emotional stability, and hope for the future when so many of the values defining today's political realities are contrary to my core spiritual beliefs?
2. How can I make positive contributions to civic life when there is so much negativity, division, and cynicism in our society?
